Schedule 2 requires at least one conveniently situated tap for drawing drinking water. A direct connection to the incoming main and a position over the kitchen sink are normal recommendations where practicable, not universal statutory requirements.¹
Appliance water inlets should have suitable isolation and risk-appropriate backflow protection on the supplied-water side. Their waste hoses must separately follow the appliance instructions and an appropriate trapped-spigot or standpipe arrangement under the drainage rules.
